The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is seeking experienced resellers of IT hardware, software, and related services for a new multiple-award, strategic sourcing contract known as the Strategic Sourcing for the Acquisition of Various Equipment and Supplies (SAVES).
SAVES is estimated to be worth between $5 billion and $10 billion over 10 years. The FAA has issued a draft Statement of Work (SOW) for SAVES, and a Request for Proposals (RFP) could be issued as soon as this spring.
If you want to expand your business with FAA SAVES, then you need to start preparing your proposal now. The draft Statement of Work was issued last fall, so it will likely be a short turnaround once the RFP is issued.
With SAVES, the FAA intends to consolidate purchases of IT hardware, Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software, equipment, components, cloud-based services, and related technical and professional services supporting full lifecycle management of IT assets. SAVES will be used across the Department of Transportation (DOT).
Scope of Work
The FAA is seeking products and services including (but not limited to):
- COTS software
- Network infrastructure components (servers, switches, storage arrays, and network devices)
- Personal computing devices (workstations, laptops, tablets, thin clients, notebooks, and similar items)
- Computer peripherals and accessories
- Audio/visual equipment
- Miscellaneous equipment (large screens, touch screens, scanners, projectors, desktop printers, multi-functional devices (MFD)
- Software to support the above-mentioned hardware
- Cloud-based services by various Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) that meet the FAA IT community’s requirements.
- Technical and professional support services that enable the full lifecycle management of IT assets
- Software as a Service (SaaS) in which the Contractor provides specific software applications for use by service consumers.
Note that the SOW does not include non-COTS software items or software development for COTS items.
