Exciting news for our maritime defense community! The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) has announced the second Rolling Admissions for the SeaPort Next Generation (NxG) program, slated for release in the second quarter of FY 2024.
With the Navy reopening the $50 billion professional services vehicle, and an estimated annual procurement of $5 billion in services through task orders issued under SeaPort-NxG, this is a not-to-be-missed opportunity for companies aiming for a second chance or new entrants seeking to secure their spot on this prestigious vehicle. SeaPort NxG is your gateway to securing a position on one of the most anticipated Multiple Award Indefinite-Delivery/Indefinite-Quantity Contracts (MAC IDIQ) this year.
SeaPort NxG at a Glance:
SeaPort NxG serves as NAVSEA’s electronic platform for procuring a wide range of support services, connecting over 2,400 IDIQ contract holders with essential Navy requirements. The services span 23 areas, including Engineering, Financial Management, and Program Management. The scope of services covers a breadth of professional support areas vital to naval operations and beyond.
A Retrospective Look at SeaPort-NxG:
December 2018: The initial launch of SeaPort NxG saw the award of positions to 1,870 businesses, highlighting the program’s broad industry appeal and the Navy’s dedication to fostering a competitive and diverse supplier base. This included awards to 1,553 small businesses and 320 large businesses across 46 states, the District of Columbia, and Guam.
2021 Expansion: In a significant expansion of vendor competition for task orders, 600 additional companies were awarded spots on the SeaPort-NxG contract as part of a rolling admissions process. This growth underscores the Navy’s commitment to leveraging a wide range of expertise across 23 functional areas.
Scope of Services:
The SeaPort-NxG contract covers a diverse array of services categorized into engineering and program management support. The engineering services category encompasses 12 functional areas, including but not limited to engineering support, research and development, and software engineering. Program management services span 11 areas, such as financial analysis, quality assurance, and computer systems analysis, ensuring comprehensive support for Navy operations.
What’s New in Rolling Admissions II:
Technical Focus: The Navy continues its approach from the first Rolling Admissions, prioritizing technical and qualitative criteria over price to foster task order level competition.
Expanded Use: Beyond the Navy and Marine Corps, other federal agencies are encouraged to utilize SeaPort NxG, broadening potential opportunities for contractors.
Small Business Support: The structure of the program promotes participation from small businesses and various socio-economic categories, ensuring inclusivity across all functional areas.
